Mitchell-Linden Book Club: Feb 2025

Join us for a discussion of "The Art Thief" by Michael Finkel! Check with the library for available copies. All are welcome. Synopsis: Many works of art have been stolen in countless ways from all over the world. No one has been quite successful as master thief Stephane Breitwiester, who carried out more than two hundred heists in over nearly eight years from museums and cathedrals all over Europe. Unlike most thieves, Breitwiester never stole for money. His stolen loot was displayed in secret rooms where he could admire them. With remarkable athleticism and an innate ability to circumvent any security system, these talents enabled a growing disregard for risk and addictive need to indulge in more scores. Ignoring his girlfriend's pleas to give up this lifestyle, one final act brought everything down.
