English: Join us for an exploration of the rich history and cultural significance of Chinese tea. From its mythical origins and archaeological roots in southwestern China to its evolution into a beloved beverage, we will trace the journey of tea through the ages. Learn how Lu Yu, the “Sage of Tea,” revolutionized tea culture with his seminal work, "The Classic of Tea." The lecture will also cover the height of tea culture during the Song Dynasty, the minimalist practices of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the wide variety of modern teas with their unique characteristics. Additionally, we will explore the complexity and significance of traditional tea ceremonies. The event will conclude with a live Gongfu tea demonstration by Kevin Ge from 7s Art, followed by a tea tasting and an open Q&A session. This is a live program with the option to join virtually.
