Women’s History Month: Women: A Force of Labor with J. Albert Mann and Stephanie Guerdan
Join award-winning author J. Albert Mann and editor/union organizer Stephanie Guerdan for an inspiring discussion about women and labor: past, present, and future.
From indentured and enslaved people to the immigrant factory worker, sharecropper, and career organizer, American women have been on the front line of the fight for a better workplace since 1492. Hear the stories of people you might know, like Harriet Tubman and Mother Jones, and those you need to know, like Emma Tenayuca and Jane McAlevey.
Stephanie and Jennifer will use their collaboration on the book "Shift Happens: The History of Labor in the United States" as a backdrop to engage in this conversation about the leadership roles of women in union organizing, bargaining, and striking.
