English: Presented and hosted by Flushing Library with support from Department of Humanities, NYC College of Technology, CUNY. This open course is composed of a series of lectures that focus on significant artworks from the past century. Through detailed analysis of major art movements, artists, artworks, themes, and trends, it helps the audience understand the development of art from the modern to the contemporary and gain a clear idea of art of the present day. There are four parts in this series that will be given in eighteen lectures. The Session II will continue from the second class of Part III. Part I: Modern Art before the First World War.
