Acrylic paint is a fast-drying, versatile medium. It can be used in transparent layers like watercolor, impasto as with oil paint, and everything in between. By looking at the work of old and new masters for direction, we will explore the myriad ways that acrylic paint can be used. While we will use the still life as a point of departure, the focus will be on shape, color and the material of the paint. This program is open to everyone with an interest in painting. Supplies will be provided for up to 30 people. Please call or come into the library to preregister.
This program is funded by New York State Senator Michael Gianaris.
