Synagogue of Ancestral Commitments: Encounters of African and Jewish Diasporas in Brazil

In celebration of Brazilian Independence Day, join us for an illustrated lecture with Alex Minkin about the dialogue between Judaism and African religions. Both African and Jewish religious beliefs offer messages of understanding and harmony, and the universe of memories from the Jewish diaspora was welcomed within Afro-Brazilian temples. This presentation raises complex issues of identity in contemporary multicultural society.
