Come and join the Alley Pond Environmental Center as they offer students a whole new insight into the world of insects. With the use of bug viewers, children will get the opportunity to examine live Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches up close. Students will learn the body parts of insects, their life cycle and their role in nature. Space is limited to 30 attendees. This program is funded by the Newtown Creek Environmental Benefit Fund and the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. Additionally, it is administered by City Parks Foundation.
