Climate Action: Sub-Irrigated Planters

Join urban farmer Gil Lopez to learn how to make a sub-irrigated planter (SIP) using common items and inexpensive materials for optimal plant growth and bountiful produce - even if you occasionally forget to water or travel frequently! This is good for indoor and outdoor container gardening. We will learn using a small container, but the SIP technique is scalable, and you will also learn how to make a larger SIP at home. This is made possible by the Queens Public Library Foundation and the generous support of our individual donors.
