Summer Reading Kick-Off: Swing! Jazz Dance for Kids

Celebrate Make Music Day and kick off your summer adventures with a journey through the world of swing! Originally a Black dance genre, we’ll learn about the history, instruments, and musicians that brought it to its current widespread form. We’ll learn the basics of the Lindy Hop, and explore the rhythm, bounce, and music from the swing era. Use your hands, feet and voice to be submerged in the joy, fun and excitement of jazz! This program is funded by New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams.
