Queens Memory Podcast: "Our Major Minor Voices"

"Our Major Minor Voices" is the award-winning third season of the Queens Memory Podcast, featuring stories from our borough's diverse Asian American communities in their own voices.

"Our Major Minor Voices" includes eight bilingual episodes representing the eight most widely spoken Asian languages in Queens: Bangla, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Nepali, Tagalog, Tibetan, and Urdu.

The Korean episode of "Our Major Minor Voices," “Halmoni’s Kimchee,” won the Signal Awards's 2022 Gold Prize in their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category.

You can listen to and follow the Queens Memory Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Podcast Addict, and other major podcast platforms.

Season 3 of the Queens Memory Podcast was made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy Demands Wisdom.

Season 4 of the Queens Memory Podcast, "Memories of Water," explores stories of climate change, belonging, and resilience in Queens.

In Episode 3 of "Memories of Water," "After Ida: Left in the Dark | 艾達過後 — 遺留在黑暗之中", reporter Yiyan Zheng returns to Flushing four years after Hurricane Ida’s deadly floods and finds that the most vulnerable members of the community are still being cut off from life-saving information.

In May 2026, "After Ida: Left in the Dark" won the Excellence in Audio Storytelling, Short-Form Award from the Asian American Journalists Association.
