Senior Scientist: Biodiversity in City Green Spaces

Join us for this talk with York College’s Dr. Monica Mowery to learn more about biodiversity in city green spaces and the urban heat island effect and how they are both connected to environmental justice and the effects of climate change in Queens. Dr. Monica Mowery is a professor in the Biology Department at York College. Her research is about ecology and evolution of invasive and native species, specifically insects and spiders. She often speaks to the public about studying ecology, evolution, and global changes, including climate change and urbanization.
