The purpose of this project is to bring together community families in a creative atmosphere where they will create individual artistic squares or units or sections that will be placed together as a whole mural. The theme of this project is the community. Participants can identify issues affecting the well-being of the community and identify solutions that are then depicted in their artwork. Participants will be asked to consider peace, love or kindness as solutions and design their square, unit or section to depict that. This project lends itself to the expression of individual families but more importantly to the unique expression of a community coming together as a whole. In this mural workshop, family members will have an opportunity to explore art materials as well as make decisions regarding the mural design.
