Seneca's Blues: Getting Through the Day and Becoming Resilient

Join Pat Wictor, an American blues and folk guitarist and singer-songwriter, for an uplifting musical experience. What do the blues and the ancient Roman philosopher Seneca have in common? More than you might think. Both acknowledge hardship and loss as expected parts of living — and both offer a path through them. Rather than denying suffering, the blues and Stoic philosophy embrace radical acceptance of life’s challenges, calling on our best capacities: perseverance, courage, reason, and even humor. The result is resilience — and, surprisingly, joy.
