Sankofa Series: Black Fashion

The Sankofa Series is a monthly program at the Langston Hughes Community Library & Cultural Center that explores Black history, art, and culture. It began during COVID-19 in response to national conversations about Black history and the Black Lives Matter movement and is now being brought back in a new form. Each month includes weekly sessions such as arts and crafts, discussions, film screenings, and talks with authors or panels. The schedule stays consistent within a month but can change from month to month. The program also uses resources from the Black Heritage Reference Center. This program is funded by the New York State Black Legislative Task Force.
