Ridgewood Garden Reading Series: Emily Hockaday

Join us in the garden every Thursday in September for the Ridgewood Reading series! Each evening will include a featured reader, as well as time for audience members to share their own work (literary, music, or otherwise). Come to share or come to listen! September 19th's featured reader is Emily Hockaday. Emily Hockaday's most recent book, "In a Body," is set in the parklands of Queens and looks at chronic illness, the environment, parenting, and grief. Her debut, "Naming the Ghost," looks at a new parent contending with grief and a mysterious haunting. Emily's poems have appeared in anthologies and online and print journals, including the North American Review, Salamander, MidAmerican Review, and more. Emily can be found online at www.emilyhockaday.com. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Ridgewood Library.
