Meet Penny Lane, Author of "Redeemed: A Memoir of a Stolen Childhood"

Author Penny Lane shares her gripping story of being taken from her all-American home by her Hungarian father, leading to a life of abandonment, abuse, and trauma. Despite these challenges, she found the strength to break free and build a life on her own terms, ultimately discovering happiness. A former resident of Jackson Heights, she lived two blocks down from the library, recalls how she would run away from home via a second story window on that street. The library was her escape and sanctuary; the Jackson Heights Library had a significant part in her book and story. "Redeemed" provides a rare insight into Eastern European immigrant culture and reads like a page-turning thriller. In an era where marginalized voices are increasingly being heard, this memoir serves as an inspiration to women everywhere, encouraging them to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
