League of Young Inventors with NY Academy of Sciences

Starting April 2025, join us every Thursday at Queens Public Library for an exciting hands-on STEM series with The New York Academy of Sciences! Each week, young learners will tackle real-world challenges in structural engineering, exploring how bridges are designed, tested, and improved to meet community needs. Students will dive into concepts like tension, compression, and stability, applying their creativity and problem-solving skills to build and refine their own bridge prototypes. Through engaging weekly labs, participants will develop critical thinking, collaboration, and engineering design skills—gaining an immersive STEM experience while shaping the world around them. Registration required. Please register by calling the branch or stopping in in-person at the Children's Reference Desk. For children in grades 3-7.
