This eight-session intermediate-level virtual course will strengthen observational skills in both drawing and watercolor. The course will cover botanical names and examine plants common to our region. Working with contour drawing technique and watercolor, we will learn how to create intricate two-dimensional works based on observation. Led by teaching artist Karen Fitzgerald, we will explore the differences between strict botanical illustration and an interpretive approach to depicting plants in a naturalistic style.
