Black Music Month & Juneteenth

Join us in our appreciation of the iconic sounds of African American music in celebration of Juneteenth. This year we are incorporating Black Music Month with Juneteenth. June 19th, the day the slaves of Texas found they were freed, and celebrated their freedom. Throughout the month of June, music lovers gather to celebrate Black Music Month. The legacy of African-American composers, singers, songwriters, and musicians is an indelible piece of our Nation's culture. Generations of African Americans have carried forward the musical traditions of their forebears, blending old styles with innovative rhythms and sounds. We celebrate the diversity, inclusivity, and the community’s impact in shaping cultural conversations in modern America.
