AANHPI Month: Author Reading of "My Paati's Saris" and Sari Demonstration
Author Jyoti Rajan Gopal shares the magic of saris, clothing from South Asia, that have remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years. During this program for all ages, she will share an interactive presentation and read from her picture book "My Paati's Saris," a story about a little boy who loves his grandma's saris. After, there will be a sari-wearing demonstration - attendees can also volunteer to be draped! Books will be on sale and the author will be available for book signing.
"My Paati's Saris" is a New York Public Library Best Books of 2022, A Bank Street Best Books of 2022 and a School and Library Journal Best Books of 2022, and was shortlisted for the prestigious Neev Literary Award in India.
